Hindustani Classical Music and Dance Festival

Six accomplished masters of Indian classical music gather at the Sivananda Ashram to present performances and workshops spanning four days in May 2027. The festival features tabla virtuoso Swapan Chaudhuri alongside his son Nilan Chaudhuri, vocalist Sanhita Nandi, violinist Raaginder Momi, sarangi player Rohan Misra, and harmonium soloist Kedar Naphade. Each artist represents decades of rigorous training within distinct lineages and gharanas of Hindustani music. The program alternates between evening satsangs, where musicians perform classical ragas and devotional pieces, and afternoon workshops offering deeper exploration of individual instruments and techniques. Participants experience music as an embodied practice, one that cultivates attention to subtle melodic and rhythmic dimensions. The festival sits within the ashram's broader yoga vacation framework, integrating concert attendance with daily asana classes, pranayama, and meals.
